Whether you are looking for cartoons, videos of nursery rhymes or animated movies to keep your kids entertained, YouTube has them all.

A simple search reveals that YouTube currently has more than 740,000 “Mickey Mouse” videos and over 974,000 “Tom and Jerry” cartoons.

The big problem with YouTube, or any other video sharing site on the Internet, is that that all videos may not be appropriate for children. You child may be watching a perfectly “safe for kids” video on YouTube but she may still accidentally stumble upon videos that aren’t suitable for her.

We have created this app from a parents perspective and already tested over many groups.

Here is what you have with this app:

The app has two modes: "Kids Mode" and "Parent Mode". The Mode is basically a lock mechanism (password protected). Once locked (Kids Mode), the App is a simple list of videos that can be played and enjoyed. There will be no menus and deleting/reordering is disabled. In Parent Mode, you can access new menus that gives ability to search entire youtube and and select videos to be added to your favorite list or you can post it to our "parent recommended videos" section. You can edit/delete your favorite list.

Parent recommended videos: This tab includes all videos that is recommended by parents by using this app. When recommending a video, parents can select appropriate age group for selected video. You can also like videos in this section. Since you can sort by number of like and by age, it is very easy to find videos, say, for ages 2-4 and has the highest number of likes from parents.

We will be listening what you say and improve the App. Please lets know if you have any recommendation on how this app could be more useful.
